If you are opening a Trucking company make sure you can get Insurance. I get calls all the time from new owners who have started their company and DOT papers, found trucks to purchase and drivers.

Then, they call around and can't find insurance or insurance they can afford. The transportation insurance today can be very expensive and sometimes hard to get. The market keeps having large claims driving up costs.

Carriers are tightening up on accepting new business and much more. I'm mentioning this because it's what I do and I didn't see this mentioned in the "Becoming an owner section" when it has become a big and serious issue across the US.
