Welcome to trucking NEW

Start enjoying your "me time"! Yep, trucking is a whole different world & lifestyle that my friends & neighbors that do not do this lifestyle think we are all from another planet. To be honest with you I enjoy my "me time" when he is not home! I have gotten used to his absence of being gone OTR for long periods of time that it no longer bothers me - out of sight, out of mind! When I go out to dinner with my female friends & when it is my turn to put in my order, one of my friends will say, yes our single friend here would like to order now! I have even stopped wearing my rings & also when he is away, my place is neat as a pin, looks like a furniture showroom or from Better Homes & Garden but when he is home for hometime he turns the place into Worst Trashcans & Dumpsters, my one friend even told him to his face that my home is no shack in the ghettos of a foreign country & I do everything in his absence & even when he is home, I am really glad when I see his tractor pull out of the driveway!!

But you know what? Every morning you wake up you okay the position you are in. Weigh your pros and cons. You want him more than anything in the world? Or do you want a different acting him more than anything? You cannot expect him to change because he won't. So you have one option. Continue on with the original model. But guess what? You can change YOU. You have what you have. You want it? No? Then change you. Its the only way you will get a happier life. Change your name or address or the way you perceive your situation. Its up to you girl. A trucking life is just that. Trucking. Gone. Absent. And mine was always a weekend truck mechanic. Never saw him or had his attention. Not his fault. He was just living his life. I said adios after trying for 12 yrs. I'm happy now. You can be too. Change YOU.

Eight years later, I've spent most of it alone. After awhile, you'll get used to it.
