Looking at Becoming a Trucker

I'm looking to make a switch in careers, but before I do, I want to know if I'll get hired. I had a possession of oxycodone charge 2 years ago, and adjudication was withheld, so I'm not a convicted felon. I'm guessing that doesn't make a difference? I was just curious if there was a distinction, but I'm guessing not. I don't want to shell out a bunch of money, time, and effort, if it won't work it. Let me know please!

Keep your head up.

If you were not convicted the best thing to do is get your background pulled and see what it says. The charge probably wont appear and you should be good to go. If it does appear, you can go to the county that the charge appeared in and have it expunged. Then it wont show up. It should cost less than $100.00. Don't spend the money on an attorney. This is something you can do yourself. I am a recruiter for a truck driving school. I see this all the time. The most important thing is your driving record, other than your criminal record. If you driving record is good and your criminal background is good you should have no problem. A couple good websites to go to is:
www.layover.com
www.jobster.com
www.cdljobs.com
www.bubbajunk.com
www.thetruckersreport.com
www.hotcdljobs.com
I wish you luck in your journey.

No Convict.
by: Anonymous

If you were never convicted then you are no convict. People are accused everyday but when you can't pin the blame on them then chances are they were never really guilty.

Go ahead. Give it a shot.
