i am an experienced truck driver going through a bit of a funk right now.. i am educated and tried different work in m y life from med field to trucking..

i feel trucking is more my speed right now as i am training pt to be a volunteer EMT at my local firehouse.. so why not be a truck driver who can possibly save a life one day if in the event of an emergency out there on the road and we know as drivers there are a lot of those.

i have about 10 years experience and am going crazy trying to find a solid, stable gig up here in NY.. hell, I'll even relocate.

I just want to provide for myself with no assistance and feel independent and whole again... i was a real good truck driver.. i just want to work!! u dig? just need to work!!

Kim you will probably have to go through training again depending on how long ago you stopped driving.

However, it shouldn't be too hard for you to get a trucking job, if you let them know you are willing to relocate. You might not have to relocate, just tell them you don't mind staying out for long periods of time.

It all depends on if the company that you end up at will take freight to Long Island or not.

I think that you can probably find something. The best thing to do is call around and see what they are saying.

Many listed below are hiring in the NJ/NY area but many want experience. I didn't look through all of them just glanced. The larger carriers will train you, but ask them if they have a refresher course instead of going through a complete training again.
