Is high school diploma or ged needed to drive a semi?

Do you have to be a high school graduate,or have your GED to drive a semi? I dropped out of high school my junior year,and never graduated.Can i still be accepted into a driving program for CDL license? I know some companies may require at least the GED to be hired.
