Husband about to go to school for Truck Driving

Hi I'm Brenda. I'm new to this group...and I just want to know how stressful it is being a truckers wife?


I heard the long hours on the road is really stressful to their wives. I don't have a problem with him gone for days as long as he's providing for us, I'm ok with it.

But he's never been away from home more then two days, and now he's going through school to become a truck driver and he gotta be away for weeks.

I just wanna know is it stressful.

My husband is not Otr but he’s home one day out of the week . It’s sometimes can be hard because when he’s home we try and do everything that day . Long days and hours turn into weeks , I’m use to it but it’s gets lonely and stressful because you feel alone a lot .

My husband passed away oct.he has been an owner operator most his life.ive always had a job and raised twins while he drove.we were married 27 years.you will be a single parent and most family functions and holidays will be spent alone.it is a hard life for all involved but it is and always will be their first love.the time we did spend together was amazing when I'd hear that big rig rolling down the street.a truckers stress is so much more than ours.their shoulders aren't big enough to hold ours too.i would like to open my home to drivers passing through for a cooked meal clean clothes and a spare room but I have no idea how to reach out to them.
