Going OTR with fiancé

by Amanda
(Maine)

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to expect going over the road as a passenger?

My fiancé just started OTR driving and wants me to go with him. I'm going to go, just don't know what really to expect!

Fiancé going on the road

Hi Amanda, I have been traveling with my husband as a passenger in the US, coast to coast since May 2020. It has been a great adventure. My husband says it is like camping, (I hope you like camping), carrying your bag with clean clothes to have shower at the truck stop, cooking our meal in the truck, sleeping in the bunker beds, having time to read a book. I also have my own duties such as navigating, ELD, getting drinks/foods front the fridge while he is driving, check in with the receiving / shipping departments, checking and responding messages.
One tip, although the doctors don’t recommend it, I don’t drink a lot of liquids during the trip, lol, I guess you know the reason..
Good luck!!
I hope you enjoy it!!
