Former Star Driver Seeking Return

I am a driver seeking recent experience in returning back to the trucking industry. I am a tanker graduate from Schneider Training Academy with Tanker training and endorsement with 6 months solo OTR from 2004-2005.

I had no preventable accidents and over 40K in that short time. I was on the way to becoming a Star driver and was interested in becoming a qualified "Special" division driver.

I got an older truck fresh out from being on the road with a trainer and within 3 months, I got assigned to a nearly BRAND NEW TRUCK, (outta trust), for doing so well. Again, NO tickets/violations when driving, and no preventable accidents.

I simply resigned back then to stay close to home to care for my father who fell terminally ill. He was a trucker of over 20 years. I landed a great job with the State soon after and I just stayed.

No other issues as the insurance companies try to pin drivers as if we are no longer qualified to hold a CDL if we do not have recent experience.

I haven't forgotten a thing, plus I still have my training and class books and schooling/training info, that I can refresh myself, if need be, before I would even come back to the industry(...as far as a refresher course).

I am interested in the long-haul, solo, OTR, W/PET.

I am interested in LEASE PURCHASE or company if that is the only way back in, or driving for an O/O. I dont have any children and single. Basically I plan to stay, keep my MVR clean, and buy a truck, REGARDLESS OF THE TIME IT TAKES AND THE ECONOMY.

I LOVED TRUCKING AND WILL BE STICKING AROUND FOR QUITE SOME TIME, when I get my foot back in the door.

THE HARD TRUTH NEW
by: me

Ok, first, i guess this is just my experience, OR, there are a bunch of extreme LIES floating around:
So, you read the post, all solid!!!
So far, i called Werner, FFE, NCI, US Express, and USA truck. I figured why take changes with the internets 'heads-up' bloggings in consideration, and just inquire with the companies that say they help ex drivers like me. NOT SO!!!!! THEY ALL SAID THEY COULDNT DO ANYTHING FOR ME, since i havent driven for 7 years and only 6 months SOLO plus schooling and tanker training. THATS THE TRUTH, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU FEED INTO When looking online, always better to call to find the truth. SWIFT is interested though, but now im finding a potential issue about PET. Damn, i cant leave her behind, so my hopes are falling back down, not giving up yet though
