Experienced driver seeking Arizona trucking job or OTR

I have an Arizona CDL class A. I studied and passed the test thinking I could get a job OTR, but apparently you cant do that without recent experience. So how do you get that experience?

I drove local and OTR from 1978 to 1991 and then went in to the construction industry...until the economy tanked and I was layed off Dec 2010.

I relocated to Colorado and a friend got me on as a Roll off driver in June 2011. Its not where I want to be...Arizona is where we have lived for 22 yrs... and we want to go back.

I have experience driving flatbed,low boy,refrigerated,end dump,belly dump.I loved driving and hope to get back in to what I'm used to.

I am 56 and have a clean driving record,as well as clean criminal record,take any drug test you give,and current medical card.
