Drugs found in semi

My nephew was arrested and after searching his truck cops found crack cocaine and methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

What happens now as far as his CDL and him driving again?

His driving career is likely over
by: Hervy

I don't know of a trucking company that would hire him after that. Maybe after a few years depending on how productive he is during those years, might give him a chance.

The will see it as irresponsible, unsafe, unlawful, and an addict (paraphernalia) more than likely.

So if they hired him, it puts them in liability if an accident occurs whether it was his fault or not just for letting him drive with his background.

Very, very simple answer:
by: Anonymous

His trucking career is over.

Even if he hires an attorney to try to say "it wasn't his" he will NOT get this information expunged from the FMCSA database, thereby forcing him to try to drive in another state with another license and lie to a potential "new" employer.

Ticking time-bomb

This industry is unforgiving wherever public safety is involved.

You didn't mention whether or not they drug-tested him or whether or not he is contesting.

Oh well...

Peace, out

Drive sober or don't drive at all.

After getting busted for drugs
by: Hervy

I very seriously doubt he will be able to get a trucking job any time soon.
