Downshifting on a down grade

Im a new driver been driving for 4months and I would like some tips on downshifting when going down hills not mountains but hills. I usually downshift at 1100 and almost always grind. Do i shift lower than that or higher? Thanks

alwas use the same gear that you climp the hill or mt. gear down before your desent. one missed gear could cause a run away safety first always most wrecks are caused by experienced drivers that master a certsin then next time in crease speed till they get in throuble. safety first and for most know your brakes are they sent right to mush brake and you have nothing safe trucking my friend its a jop not a trill

downsgifting would mean higher rpm's and more fuel usage.

of you are doing it to slow down coming to a stop st a simple matter of the right rpm for your speed and gear would dictate
