Columbia experienced driver looking get back on the road

by Johnny Holmes
(Columbia SC)

Hi, i am Certified CDL Trainer who was with a Truck Driver School and was recently let go because my mother who is at home in Hospice care, got to many phone calls during work.

They knew about it and because i complained about the school like of concern for the welfare of the students they let me go citing use of the phone.

I have over 40 yrs of experience with various type of flat beds, vans and tanks trucks. I am still at home with mom who is not expected to last more than 30 days. At that time i will be ready to get back on the road.

I can supply my resume with all my previous employers. The reason i am here is because i was out of trucking for a few years enjoying retirement before the Truck Driving School job. I will be willing to run most areas if i have to but i prefer to stay east of the Rockies.

I will run NYC grew up there don't have a problem with the East Cost. I don't like refrigerated vans would love a dedicated run. If i sound like someone you would love to have drive for you please give me a call.

Right now i am getting ready to get my hazmat and TWIC card. I would love to make about 900.00 a week staying out for periods of time does not bother me i do not have a wife

Small company NEW
by: Cher

My name is Cher. My husband and I have our own trucking company. We are a small company that can tailor better to individual needs. We are in the market to bring on another truck and driver. Call me, I believe we can be a great match. Thanks. 912-272-6283

Whichever way you go try to avoid sticking it out with the schools. Your license is worth less to them because licenses come through every week. Whichever way you decide to roll don't stick with a school. Even Fed Ex gives you weekends off but they want six months experience. I stuck it out with a school longer than I should have but yeah way better companies out there that don't blow your QUALCOMM up as bad. That was so irritating.

Best of luck NEW

Easy way is to look up companies that offer refresher course. But with your experience and all...Give Celadon a call. Dry van, flat bed or refrigerated. Can do company or lease. Or can go to their brokerage company Eagle Logistics and lease on to them where its a 75/25 split.
