Thomas John HULLIGAN NY Class A 7 mnths exp. otr. current casino bus driver want otr job

by T.J.Hulligan
(Niagara Falls,NY,USA)

As a Legal Green-card Holder I chose to go through every single Driving Test up to and including a CDL-A...the only Endorsement I have allowed to lapse was the HazMat.

I still have the Passenger Endorsement as I drove Passenger Coach throughtout the US. Although I hold a British version of all Heavy Goods Vehicle Licenses and both drove and trained personnel on same ,my on-the road experience here in the USA after obtaining my Class-A has been approx7-9 months with two Trucking Companies : H.O.Wolding,out of Amherst.WI, (which I foolishly left too soon!!) and Sunflower where due to several personal family matters I totally "screwed" up and had a couple of off-road accidents that were TOTALLY my fault-sheer stupidity in respect of one and sheer fatigue in regards the second.

Since then I have driven Passenger Coach throughtout the 48 States and Canada and currently drive for a local Casino!!

Problem is that for ALL Trucking Companies( or so it seem,s?)

(a) I Do not have sufficient on-road experience here within the USA(apparently my British & European/Middle East experience doesn't count here!!)or if the 7+ months experience here in the USA IS sufficient, the fact that it is in excess of 8 years ago makes it so that NO-ONE will look at taking me on!

(b) The fact that I am 69 yrs old(No! I am NOT "dead yet"!!!) is an equally serious bar to obtaining a over-the road job!. I have driven Box.Reefer,Flat,Tank but still!.... ( DID try to get on-board as a "Trainee-type driver,BUT despite Companies taking on drivers VERY fresh out of the various "Training Schools, the fact that I HAVE a full CDL-A proves of no incentive~!!~)

Regards to all who read this!!
