Old lady trucker

Began riding with my Dad when I was 10 yrs old. He was a log truck driver in Cascade mtns of Oregon. Wanted to be a driver when I grew up. He was not allowed to teach me when I was old enough, his boss said so.

I married a young man who was allowed to drive trucks. When our 2 children were almost grown, he asked his boss if he could teach me. He did and in 1974 I began my trucking. Lots to learn and yes there were issues.

Truck stops back then did not have services for lady drivers. Could rent motel space for few hours, or just make do with cold water sink and a toilet.

Later after husband and I divorced(he did not want to be married to a trucker), I kept on driving. Been in all the states at least once, many of them a lot of times.

At 78 yrs am still able to drive and still enjoy it. Currently running west coast only, good people who are working hard to build a solid small outfit. All the truck stops have plenty of services now
