will i have problems getting hired to drive a van if i had back surgery 2 years ago.

I have a letter from my Dr. Clearing me to drive a commercial vehicle with no restrictions but I have been turned down by one company to drive a flatbed.

Yes you can if your doctor cleared you. I would not even mention it. It is you privacy. Under the Hippa LAW.

If you have a medical card with out restrictions I do not understand why it would be.

Laws often prohibit discrimination on the basis of:

Age
Sexual orientation
Gender identity
Marital status
Military veteran status
