ok your truth is incorrect NEW

a record is a record just because you don't see it on the DMV printout does not mean it doesnt exist or just disappears into thin air..... the majority of speeding tickets are there for life especially if you were not allowed do a traffic school....for the purpose of a CDL they look back 10 years because that is how long CDL drivers printout view up to 10 years....I dont know where this person got his info MOST companies do a thorough background check for all potential drivers for criminal and traffic...

You have a good chance since you did not carry a cdl
at the time of the ticket so give it a try and go with your instincts...

ok the truth NEW

One ticket in the last 4 years will not prevent you from getting a cdl or a decent trucking job. Most companies don't allow more than 2 tickets in the past 3 years. If you could not get a job because of 1 ticket in 4 years then there would be a lot of drivers without jobs. Stay positive and go for it future driver.

allow one ticket within 3 to 5 years length depends on the company. if the ticket was more severe could be a hindrance. 15 over or reckless usually is a no.

get a copy of your MVR, you will need it anyway to send to prospective companies. call a few companies talk to a recruiter not all companies are the same.

my opinion you should be ok...

Varies from state to state NEW
by: Anonymous

Not if you are from Massachusetts!
Massachusetts: Six years. points stays on record.

Not if you are from Wisconsin!
Wisconsin: Five years. Points stay on record

Was this speeding ticket a criminal offense??

Was your speeding ticket because you were caught racing?

These two normally stay on 5-10 years sometimes forever....depending on the state

Go Online to your state DMV and pay 2-5 dollars for your printout and see if you have no visual tickets or warrants or failures to appear as a result of a ticket, and you will have an answer, if its clean GO FOR IT! If it is not forget it, you are an insurance risk and companies wont hire you....

Good luck! :)
