Out an About

Out an About

I recently ran across a trucking company who isn't very up to par, with standards. They have a poor MC/DOT rating which hurts them bad. Treatment of driver's well not so up front.

The gentleman who owns this company is a small town preacher,so you would expect better.NOT..A good friend of mine and owner/op. Signed on with this company ran 10,ooo miles and didn't get a dime for it.Owner said incurred expenses went over settlement amount. Driver shows with fuel and road maintenance still under settlement amount by a few thousand dollars. Now that my friend is complaining the owner(preacher) keeps giving him different amounts.
Well there's help for this its called free legal planning provided by Better Business Bureau. And they will help sort out all legal actions you may want to take into consideration. Personally sounds to me like a scam by the preacher to make a lot of money off his drivers. I would really like to know which church he preaches at so i could go and listen to the smooth talking man. So if you come across this company consider all angles then look for more. Thompson Trucking (NORCO) Burbank,OHIO. I myself will have to contact them and get a job.Their BBB rating is below standard one of the lowest on list.

So sad to see the shadyness spread beyond secular

Thanks for the heads up American Trucker.

I don't know what it takes for people running business to realize it would be a lot simpler (and profitable in the long run) to treat people right both customers and employees and build a strong lasting business.

Hopefully these types will get weeded out faster and faster with a new ways to expose them and people like the O/O speaking up and you taking initiative to spread the word.

Your right Dennis, the more we stand up to this mess the sooner things will get turned around. There should be a formal reporting agency within the D.O.T. to deal with such abuse of employees cause it contributes to safety issues.

That guy is probably hauling freight too cheap to let others pull it for him. I see a lot of people trying to build on brokers, not the best idea unless its specialized freight with high profit margin.

Didn't know about that leg of the BBB either. Good info.

New drivers and felons, you need to be especially careful about the company that hires you because are easy prey for shady types too.

If things happen too easy or if things seem too good to be true, I won't say don't accept, but check them out

Check out trucking companies

and keep a watchful eye on how they run the business.

Also ask questions to other drivers about if they are being treated as promised. This would tell you a lot about what to expect at the trucking company and may help you determine if questionable situations you may experience there are shady or just an appearance of such.

Your right Dennis.
I have just recently talked to my friend who is signed on at this place,he is pulling out.Which is a good thing. He is the one who gave me the inside scoop. And I went for a trip with him,so as to confront this gentleman.Which turned out to be interesting to say the least. When you run a business you never know who is gonna come through the door. And he got me.I played nice well sorta nice.Lets just say he's rethinking why he is doing business and whether he should still do it. So we'll see what happens I'm sure he had a lot to say at church this past Sunday. well have a great day.

Par fot the course. Another disreputable carrier trying snd, indeed, successfully scamming people dumb enough to run for them. I have gone through too many carriers just like this: refusing to share the profits, wanting drivers to run their asses off literally and figuratively speaking for either nothing or cheating them out of the chump change they actually owe these naive drivers. O/Os have to do their homework and, more importantly, demand more from these companies instead of walking in hat-in-hand begging for a situation. Then and only them will thing begin to change in this industry. 10-4?
