For those of you wondering where the new guy went, just wanted to say thanks to the guys i rode with. My first day was The beg of dec. Still haven't been paid for 1 day yet, They have till next week and then i will be taking action. I asked not to go to the city till i was comfortable with the job after a minor accident, no police called etc. and and then successfully completing my next day, but was fired without warning, write up, anything. The managers are nice, but lied about almost everything all along the way. The job is easy but the politics are out of control. I have NEVER had a prior accident since i started driving truck. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

PTG downhill?NEW by: Steve C.
Hmm...came across this by accident. I used to run out of the Kirkwood terminal back in the day. Jerry was the barn manager then and things were pretty good. Sorry to hear things have gone downhill. There are a lot of jobs out there. Time to move on if things are that crappy. Too bad...it really wasn't that bad of a gig back then.....

PTG-KIRKWOOD by: Anonymous
Wow,i'm glad i'm not the only one to comment on our company's path they have been going.I am supposed to use a computer in my truck that I HAVE NO IDEA how to use!And if you ask the two bumbling idiot's that run the office on how it works they just throw there hands up in the air and say do your best.I really can't wait to mo0ve on from this company either.Really Bad equipment right now.Hardley any maintinence on the stuff.Trucks keep breaking down or never getting fixed right in the first place.I really don't understand why the heads of PTG are letting this happen!????

PTG logistics-(un) professional trucking group by: Anonymous
I so frustrated with the powers to be of this company. This site is well known by our kirkwood, new york drivers very well now.I'm sure many more will get a chance to post on here.I Myself like the other drivers that have posted have seen this company fallen from grace.I don't know when but we have these new computers in the truck that we are supposed to be using, but no one from the company has ever showed us how to use them.we had a meeting one time and they talked about for less than a minute and threw some paperwork at us and said good luck!I feel bad for the guys that have never had a home computer trying to use it!Great leadership PTG!And i hope you know that most of your runs will never be completed because they are so planned out badly that you can't do them in a legal amount of time you give us!Wow that's more money out of our pockets. The drivers at my terminal are barely making it with what we are making!Thank you for all the wonderful cuts also,I feel like i should apply for foodstamps because i have to use my money to pay for over the road expenses out of my pocket! And your wonderful FUELING PRogram with Pilots Fuelstations only is working out great!Your constantly putting your drivers in harms way by not being able to find fuelstations on there trips!Whatever genius thought of that idea ought to be fired most other staions are 20cents-30cents cheaper than pilots!Duh!Maybe with the savings from the other station most drivers could actually afford to heat our homes instead of going to HEAP to get asisstance.Oh well there's always welfare if this doesn't get better! You should be ashamed the way you treat us drivers PTG!
I'm glad the other driver at the Kirkwood,NY terminal have showed me this site! Finally a place that we can vent about things and not get written up for our concerns for safety.I really think they have pretty much taken all thats left of the good morale left between the drivers out!We all used to watch out for road conditions and accidents and stuff but now people are to miserable to even say hi to each other. We are always waiting for the next dumb thing the managers do to us.I hope my next job offer comes quick because this company is going down fast!they took our measley $15.00 overnite pay away fro us and expect us to sleep in sleepers and provide for our own meals and showers on the road. That $15.00 is enough to get a couple happy meals on the road.but they don't care cause us drivers are hurting the budget for$15.00 what cheap s.o.b.'s!I guess your gonna finally get what you pay for when you have to hire bad rep drivers to cover your deliveries when all the good one's leave for a better place! The cost of living has gone up but not our pay i haven't had a raise in the many years i have been here!stuck on the road broke down in a snowstorm thats fun too!Won't reimburse you for certain things when the truck breaks down fought for 2months on a $10.00 item.

PTG-forget it!- by: Anonymous
I too have worked for PTG for numerous years at the Kirkwood,Ny terminal.I was here when they changed the office staff a couple a years ago. After that the equipment went down hill fast, load cordination terrible, and forget about trying to get ahold of your dispatcher when your broke down! It's really sad that the new Ceo:roger welling let it get this bad!He tried to cut cost so bad that it really affected the Kirkwood,NY terminal. The equipment is either broke down before you leave the yard at 3am,when you can't get ahold of anybody.Usually the mechanics say they fixed the equipment, and you don't find out till your dispatch time(3am)that it was never fixed!PTG doesn't stand behind there workers anymore, corporate has really given the drivers a feeling like they have given up on them totally!I used to be a proud worker for them, but now i'm just hanging on till the next job comes along!

Kirkwood,NY-Ptg,going way downhill! by: Anonymous
Well let me start off by saying PTG used to be a great company to work for!But ever since they(ceo:roger) cleaned house with the office management in the last couple of years at the kirkwood,ny site.the equipment is constantly broken, written up repeatedly, the managers can't get the decarolis mechanics to fix any of the tractors the right way.I have driven at least 4 different trucks in the past few days and all have something wrong with them. The kirkwood PTG office blames it on the PTG Ceo for not pushing them to fix our equipment the right way! They cut our vacation pay & they cut our pay,the benefits are unaffordable for a family.I am not a rookie, but i always thought a company should stand behind a good worker.PTG has forgotten who keeps there trucks rolling safe down the road!Ever since The Ceo:Roger has taken over he has forgotten what matters most about a company.(The workers)!Without good workers you don't keep great customers!Thanx Roger for forgetting about the little guys.

Don't bother giving 2 wk notice by: Anonymous
One more reason to never start with PTG. 2 clueless managers-one will lie and the other will swear to it. Even after all their crap, I was foolish enough to give a 2 wk notice. Speaking from experience, DON'T BOTHER. They won't dispatch you again with some excuse and you'll end up with no paycheck for 2 wks. Nice!!! Can you say 'karma'?

promise alot, give nothing by: Anonymous
PTG hires full time drivers, then knocks them down to 2 days a week and expects them to live on $300 a week. Rude managers in Kirkwood with no people skills, no clue about routing and the equipment is literally duct taped and bungee corded to make it down the road. Garbage trucks, garbage pay, garbage company. DOT will have a hay day with this whisleblower.

I'm afraid its only the beginning of worse things to come by: Anonymous
I too, work for PTG Logistics , but out of the Winchester Va terminal. I've been here 4 years and have only seen things go downhill. No raises in over 4 years,a huge cut in the vacation pay, and the discontinuation of overnight meal expense are just a few.I know tough times require tough decisions but when you cut the legs off the people who carried you there, only bad can become of it. My brother works for a local company and his pay and benefits have now passed me and left me in the dust. I used to like this company, but I think its time to move on.

PTG is growing by: Roger Welling
As the CEO, I can assure you we are not losing customers and are profitable. In fact, check out the April 5, 2010 Transport Topics. We are expanding our sales force, continue to grow, and are adding drivers.
