well i have been a trucker since 1967 we have been up and down but i have learned if you want to make it trucking you either buy new under warranty equipment and run as hard as you can and pray to make the payments or you buy a used truck and learn how to maintain that truck yourself most trucks will last 30 years if maintained properly you can take repair courses on line
We dont run new but we've been able to start a small company we have 3 trucks and four refer trailers we owe about 3500 on trailers we bought trucks and paid for them before hiring a driver we just drove our plan was to pay for equipment first ourselves we have 1998 Pete 1994 Pete 1989 international with payments under 200 for 3 trailers we managed to pay for 1 trailer these trucks cost about 10000 each trailers about 7 8 thousand some companys dont like older trucks but some do if you keep them looking good this works for me i have done it both ways i dont worry about payments
