No company provided truck driver training for Florida Students!!

I am a new student to trucking. I initially was going to go to an independent trucking school, however I decided per my financial situation that I would go with a company that financially provided my training. I am recently un-employed and really need the financial aid of the company paying for my school. Here is the problem, I live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and almost every company I have talked to is not accepting any applications from 90% of Florida??? Some say do to the economy, I really don't know. Has this ever happened before?? I am running out of options!! Does anyone now of any Companies still accepting prospective students out of Florida??

Trucking school

Hey man,

I hadn't really been in the loop about schools since I been driving for so long.

A couple of people listed some schools on the driving schools link to the left. I am sure that the economy could have an impact cause Florida was already a slow place for truckers in certain times of the year and now it winter time.

One thing you could try is use someone else's address in another part of the country. Maybe around Atlanta. Just remember, they won't hire out there cause they can't promise to get you home in a timely fashion because there is probably not enough freight out that way.

Hope this helped.
