New Tennessee driver needs to get back on the road after unfortunate event

by Jon Hammons
(Savannah Tenessee)

To whom it may concern: My name is Jon Hammons, I am 42 years old, I have bounced around from job to job all of my life, never amounting to much.

I recently decided to go to truck driving school, I love to drive, this job was perfect for me, I graduated the school, and was sent on the road with a trainer for 40 days, I had logged 27,000 safe miles. My trainer was always hoarsing around while I was driving, whether it was smacking me on the arms with his wooden back scratcher, or showing me pressure points on the body that can cause you to pass out.

We were driving through Iowa one afternoon, when the bad tornadoes were in the area. I had only been driving for about an hour when, my trainer told me I looked like I needed a hug, he put his hand around my throat, I told him I was going to pass out, my trainer weighs close to 600 lbs, I weigh 140 lbs, next thing I know I am coming to and the truck and trailor was laying on it's side.

I told my story to the police, however my trainer told them he found me slunched over the wheel. The police said that it was a he said, he said incident. So now I am stuck with an accident on my record, and with no one willing to give me a chance to show that I really am a good safe driver, who understands the importance of making sure the load is picked up and delivered on time and as safely as possible.

I know my story sounds crazy, however, that is exactly how it happened. I just need a chance to show a company what I can do. If anyone knows a company that might be willing to take a chance, I am willing to do whatever it takes.

sincerly,
Jon Hammons
