Need some creative ideas for communication. New to this..

Hey everyone!

Like the title of this story says , I a newbie to this. I met my boyfriend when worked together ( Not trucking), we were friends at the time. We connected ASAP.

He happened to be moving away to Florida the day we became interesting in one another, it was a very odd situation. We lost contact and happened to connect again and see each other In April, we went to the movies etc. He happened to be in Ohio and I am in Kentucky at the time so I drove up to see him. Mind you we were still friends.

We have been talking ever since then as well, Here recently he got a break for Labor Day weekend surprisingly, he is gone all the time. Travels everywhere.

We spent a couple days together, actually got to see his truck and see in it, got my kisses and hugs and made it official we are dating. Its one of the best feelings ever. ( Sorry had to give you the background of the story before I continue)

He left yesterday morning for Georgia, he had a 12 hour drive, I called and talked to him for a bit while he was driving.

What I am trying to ask you all with experience is, how often do you honestly talk to your man? Do you text or call? I know I probably wont see him for at least another month of so, so I am just looking for creative ideas for communication.

I've been with my bf for about six months now, he's an otr trucker and gone for a month at a time. So communication between us is very important to us. I work in the mornings and have off all night and weekends. We usually text until I get off work, then sometimes we'll have a nice long phone call. Or some days we'll use snapchat to talk while he's driving. Then usually when we both lay down at night we'll get on Skype and video chat with each other. That is what really helps me to feel connected with him. It's so amazing to just see his face each night. I hope any of this will help you feel more connected to your man. It can be very hard but keep your chin up!

like with most new relationships phone calls are plentiful in the beginning, as time goes on it gets a bit less, and as years and years go by they get less and less. so i say that's normal. i have been with my trucker 25 years and he has been driving that long too...we talk every single day. once in the a.m. he usually wakes me up , then i get ready for work and then i call him before i drive and before i begin my shift. i call him during my breaks even if its to tell him i'm on 15 minute break, quick convo. i call him at lunch, quick convo, cause i like to nap on my one hour lunch break. he knows what time i am off work so he calls me while i drive home and get into the house. i send/text him silly pics of our cat (she is a ham lol) and he always laughs at them. we talk about family stuff and new ideas i come up with while we are building our retirement home in the mountains. i come up with the ideas because i am the handy girl of the family, its a perfect fit cause he isnt. lol! i am also the tinkering type so when he needs something for his car i investigate and find out what he needs. we act like he is just around the corner most of the time, cause i tell you the week goes by so fast, if people would just refuse to argue with a trucker while he is on the road!! there is more at stake then our whinny little behinds, other people lives are on those freeways and this is his job to be looking out for them not listening to some cry baby woman who doesn't know what she wants(I dont mean you)but i hear a lot of whining and negativity on this site.(beware) it can be a fun ride for you but the minute you are stressed out just keep some dum joke on hand to make him laugh and you for that matter. just have fun life is to short to be unhappy i always say. good luck :)
