my husband and i have been married for 22 yrs and he too has been gone trucking , i too hear from people that i am lucky and i know i am , that doesnt take away how very hard it is to be alone , to raise the kids alone and to go to all their functions alone , and to go places and always feel as if somthing is missing of which it is my husband and the girls dad , the bills do have to be paid and i am thankful that he has a job one that he enjoys i never would want to take that from him there just has to be some kind of balance . trucking is an all or nothing job and if you want to be a great driver you must give it your all which means to be away . truck driving companies should realize that if they give their drivers much needed family time then i think they would have happier healthier drivers . there has to be a way but the all mighty dollar comes into play and that just goes right out the window . there is no easy answer just too pray and thank God that he allows my trucker to come back home too us and be greatful for what we have someday i pray it will get better i pray for you and your family
