My husband was stopped for speeding and there was ano open container in truck

We were on our way home. My husband got pulled over for speeding and cop did search of truck found my open container of beer from night before.

They decided not to give him a ticket for the beer and just letting him off as a warning...will this still go on his DOT record and can he lose his license?
