About Us

married and alone!

by RCMJ mom
(Texas)

I have been married to a trucker for 30 years. We have 4 kids. Our daughter is in the medical field, oldest and youngest sons are also truck drivers. Middle son runs a bar-b-que resturant. We have had our good years and bad years but thru it all we have survived.

On the radio one day they were talking about how couples make their marriages work, my oldest son called in and told them it was easy, dad drives a semi and mom makes sure he keeps it loaded! My husband always said he didn't want his boys to drive but they enjoy it, it's in their blood.

My oldest just got himself a steady girlfriend and she is having a rough time of him being gone. I told her if she really loves him she is going to have to adjust to him being gone. It makes the times that they are home much more special. When the kids were small they would go with their dad and get to spend some quality time with him.

I have made a few trips but only one with all four kids! We had just put a new motor in the cabover so we thought it would nice to take the kids to California, to DisneyLand, we live in Texas. That was a looooooong trip, youngest was about 7 months old at the time. Got stopped at Arizona port and they were going to make me get out since he didn't have a letter for me to be in the truck, which was ours. Didn't say anything about the four kids in the sleeper.
That was the first and last trip we all took. I said NO more vacations in the truck.

Even though there have been some rough times I wouldn't change anything. I am still head over heels in love with my trucker!!!!!!
