New Truckers Wife

This is like a little fairy tale story. My husband and I have known each other all our lives. We grew up together. Our parents were really good friends. After high school he moved away but we remained friends.

We talked on facebook,text and talked on the phone. One day he said he was in love with me in high school and he was coming to Florida for me.

LOL by then I was determined to steel his heart and I did and he swept me off my feet. I moved to Alabama to be with him and we recently got married.

I knew he was a truck driver when I got with him so I will stand by my man through anything but I have to say it is very hard. I miss him sooooo much when he is gone. It is hard because I don't know anyone here so I spend a lot of time by myself.

I find myself talking to myself LOL but thankfully I am fixing to go back to college. I am a very devoted truck driver's wife. I love my husband with all my heart. He is my everything :-)

Right now you are a newlywed that is looking at her new husband through rose colored glasses! When the honeymoon is over hopefully you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am a wife of a truck driver - did you notice, I said a wife of a truck driver, I did not call myself a trucker's wife because I am not going to define myself by my hub's job title or position. And I saw what the other wife commented @ obtaining phone records. Well since my phone bill is now electronically sent I am able to view all phone #'s on both of our phones of calls made & received. I noticed that my hub has gotten a hell of a lot of incoming calls on all hours & listed as unavailable & these calls were not short ones. I called my hub @ this & I got his voicemail so I left a msg asking him @ this. Now he will probably give me a song & a dance over this, but I have heard from a lot of people that all truck drivers CHEAT & they have good reason to because they know damn well that they are away & the wife won't know! Well thank God for modern technology & the laundromat I go do my laundry at there is a woman working there that told me her hub was one for 35 years & there is a 17 year difference between her daughter & son because her hub was away for 16 years b4 coming home because he was addicted to the road & what on the road gave him - being free from family life & being a married playboy! & she told me that she can give me a lot of info on this type of business & she said to me that all truckers CHEAT & they will have a woman even if they don't touch physically they have a woman emotionally with them that they can talk to when they are lonely because they know they can't call us at anytime because of family commitments at home & my hub is also an ex-soldier & I have been overseas with my hub & I have met married soldiers that their wives did not come with them because they did not want to leave the U.S. & they got girls from the foreign country whereas the single soldiers that had girlfriends back in the States did not get girls. Go figure! But it was so sad for these girls because when it was time for the married soldier to get reassigned & leave these girls behind, the girls got heartbroken because they were in love! So what I am saying is that this lady from the laundromat is saying for me or any wife not to be naive! She said to me that if I think my hub is being faithful & true to me, I need to think again & she also told me that when hubby does get home time for me not to be so cozy with him because hubby won't ever tell me that he was playing the field while away from me!

To the person that commented on a title called salute! I am glad to see that I am not the only wife that deals with a crabass when my trucker husband gets home & you are so right that the money does suck but you know what they are addicted to this job! They are worse than a soldier staying in for 20 years & has to retire & they are away more than they are at home. My friends insist they get these jobs just to avoid family life!

To the woman that commented on the title understand! Well you mentioned about an STD. First of all if you know first hand that your husband cheated on you, why & the hell would you get intimate with him knowing damn well what he has done to you. He sure as hell was not thinking of you when he did do it with that other woman & my doctor has told me that with some STDs a guy can be a carrier meaning he won't get symptoms or show signs of an STD but pass it on to his partner meaning if that is the case, you can be the one suffering from it while he is out there looking for greener pastures. If you have no children & you can support yourself financially, then LEAVE HIM ASAP! Since my husband has become a trucker, I, too, have called our phone carrier to give a monthly detailed statement of all phone calls made & received on our phones. I pay extra for it but I don't care shelling out the extra money for it. And to a degree your husband is right about saying separated but only from the job because I have friends kidding me when they are with me & people ask us if we are married, some of my friends will say oh we are all married but our friend here & pointing to me they say she is separated so that makes her single but I have the sense in my head not to mess around because of the so many STDs around. But just remember one thing even if a phone # doesn't show up, doesn't mean that he isn't using the CB, or a lot lizard he is picking up or it could be a clerk or waitress working at a truck stop because as my Mother used to tell me "when the cat is away, the mouse will play" & "where there is a way, there is a will". Now I have said to my husband that since you are only home 2-3 days at a time & you are away for weeks at a time especially sometimes 6-7 weeks, please tell me you are faithful & he got very defensive about it & also I have been seeing nothing but horror stories on this site & since my friends jokingly say I am separated, I also have removed my rings. And also my Mother did not like my husband becoming a truck driver & she has told my husband "so help me God, if you cheat on my daughter, you have to answer to me" & trust me my Mother is one tough cookie! They say good things come in small packages but so does dynamite lol! And my husband is saying that when he is out on the road, he never removes his wedding ring. And I told him you really think that ring is going to stop them because another thing some of my friends have told me & so has my doctor that truck drivers are notorious for a lot of things & one of them is being a scant chaser & there are some women out there that find truckers sexy! Where? Now you want to talk sexy - how about a doctor helping a sick & dying person come around to being well, or a nice looking well-built cop in uniform, or a hot looking Navy SEAL in uniform. The list can go on but you get the picture. Good luck & take my doctor's advice!

I To knew my trucker husband a long time. We've been married for almost 3yrs. I love him but I hate his job. Out of 365 days last year I seen 30 days. Its very hard. What makes it even harder is when you find out he's cheated on you. I found out just by looking at our phone bill. I will stand by him because I love him. But he knows not if it ever happens again I'm done. I even called the other person and he told her he was separated. Well that's true to a point, But only because of his job. I sure hope you never have to go through anything like this because it is now even harder for me to trust him. I have even went to the doctor and had all of the STD test done still waiting on those results. For his sake I better not have anything. Or it will be over for us and his job. Good for you! So awesome to hear.
I HATE being with a truck driver!!! I'd been with my finace for 12 years. He finally proposed(totally shocked) 8 days before he left for truck driving school. It has been nothing but a nightmare and I find myself mad at him often for doing this.I really noticed it the last time he came home...felt like he was a visitor.
The money sucks, he just can't seem to find the right company and when he is home he is a total crabass!
