is there a permit needed for a passenger to ride

as a girlfriend of a big rig driver who travels thru many states...would a passenger permit be required for me to ride, and how to get if needed, and what would prevent one if needed?

no....it is up to the company he is driving for....some companies give an absolute no passenger rides due to insurance issues....some companies allow it.

If he is an owner/operator its his, and he carries the insurance so there is no issue there.
