Information regarding trucking ,with 17 year old fellony conviction.

I have read recently, that with a conviction of distribution of a controlled substance, automatically disqualifies me to get hired.

But,when I speak to companies, they say it's not true.

Before I pursue a career change into trucking....I would like to k now the truth.

Can someone get hired from a trucking company, with a felony conviction for distribution controlled substance???

Not automatic

It's true. That conviction is not automatic especially being that long ago.

One thing they will definitely consider though is what you have been doing since then.

For example, if you have not been working during that time, I bet they would wonder what you were doing for money.

If you were working more companies would likely assume the past is not the person you are now.

If that is the only charge my friend, and your driving record is good, I would say it is safe to go for it.
