Can a trucking company tell a driver NOT to idle his truck when its 80 or 90 degrees outside?

I was recently delivering to a Walmart when a manager told me that I couldn't deliver until I shut my truck off! I told him he better call Bentonville because I'm not shutting it off and he can't refuse the load! My partner was in the sleeper and I wasn't about to let some backroom peon tell me how to run my truck!

if their more concerned about the fuel the engine uses than your well-being give them their keys back...the cheap skates should install an apu unit...
