can't go backward, so go forward.

any one who wants cdl can get the hope grant, I know because I just did it. I have serious charges on my record from 2001. Trafficing meth. I got 10 year sentnce and I've been free for nearly 3 years. I tied all the truck company's and got the same run around. Stop running around and call your local Technical College and ask do they or do they know which Technical College does the Commercial Truck Driving Training. My area is Ga. There are two here, West Ga. Technical College 997 S. Hwy 16 Carrollton GA 30116, 7708366800 ask for the driving course instructor, the other is Chattaahoochee Technical College
5198 Ross Rd. Acworth Ga.30102 7709754271. Ray Puckett is over this one and the one I just finished 10/08/2010. I have my CDL. Being a felon I can't get Haz Mat. Thats ok for now. The board is going to release me in Febuary 2011 and thats great. Call these numbers and even if you come up short on funds to finish the cost speak to the instructor and they will get the rest from a foundation. Out of your pocket you will pay around 100 + the cost of you endorsment, license, and 50 for the day you take your test. Done. If you are a company please give people like me a chance, for the rest of you go for broke or don't go.

Felony
by: Dennis Shipman

Cali has very liberal, progressive policies toward persons with criminal records. Those two companies you would not want to work for anyway. Trust me. In the final analysis, it depends on what the felony is for, though, that is really key here. Beyond it being fairly recent, if it is for homocide, weapons, sex or drugs, you can practically forget about getting into this business now. Jobs are not all that plentiful. With the very top drivers looking at union (Teamster) gigs, some room has opened at decent OTR companies, but you have to go to a truck stop, pick up some free trade magazines, which are those small glossy books, where trucking companies promise the world and toll free number. Look for the ones that offer training. In your case, though, it may be better to enroll in a community college program. That way you're coming with something as opposed to nothing but a felony conviction right now. 10-4?
