He change after being on the road

by Donna
(Green Bay)

He thought going back to trucking would bring us closer together after 17 years of marriage, but he got so used to being waited on by waitresses when he was on the road and ordering what ever he wanted to eat that I just didn't measure up any more.

He became very distant to me and said "don't bother having any thing for me to eat because it probably won't be something I like any way. So I couldn't do any thing right any more.

So I spoke to his minister about the conflict that I was having and needed help on a spiritual level so the minister spoke to my husband and he then up and left me!

Your husband getting up & leaving was already planned & went through his head long before you spoke to your minister. Trucking changes these guys.

So sorry NEW

I am so sorry to hear that. Sometimes it happens for no reason just know you will get beyond this. Not all drivers are like that. My driver cooks in his truck and his students do also.

so sorry to hear this. I know my hubby eats out a lot so it is hard to give them the fast food taste. I guess I just dont cook as much for him after 25 years. I dont let it bother me though. I just wait and see if he asks for something.

I am a chef by trade however, cheap food taste, is hard to kick for these guys. I know I am a good cook and so do all my friends and family. When I want to feel accepted for my specialty I ask those people if they would like me to cook for them...I never get a no from them! :)

I really dont think it had anything to do with you, it seems sometimes these guys just decide to move on and find ways to make it look like the other persons fault. With that said, maybe its time for you to move on and find someone who is not in the trucking business so you can be good to you this time. js
