I was wondering if any trucking companies will consider training and hiring a felon ?

No company will touch if at least are 5 years old depends on their insurance I have four felonies and i have been driving for 5 years
How I did it? Ok I went to a local cdl school in Florida call Mid Florida tech its part of the county school system so they won't discriminate against your record only your MVR keep in mind the the private schools will turn you down because they think you won't be able to pay them back because you won't be able to get a job. Once done there and graduated and by the way I was the top of my class I went with Transam Trucking they only require your felonies to be 5 or older do t lie in app. Got my exp there and move on.

It depends what your felony is for and the companies policy. Hit up several recruiters.
I never comitted a crime and i have an excellent driving record but i have a violation for marijuana from 4 years ago. Its looking like I may have to go government instead of a truck driving career.

How old is your felony NEW

Good advice offered already and good question asked.....how old is it?

Also consider alternate way of making money if it is less than 5 years old Jay.

Souces of additional income

need expungement or pardon NEW
by: Anonymous

like the title says.....and file for pardon after 7 years to governor.....expungement for misdemeanors after 1 year and no probation tagged on to charge..

Way to squeeze in could be through a friend have him train you, apply for your cdl, and use friends rig to take driving test, then team up for a year...go independent contractor usually small companies do take felons...I have seen this work for some people...but ya got to know people in the industry.

Local colleges offer training in truck driving and you can get your cdl through their training and they don't ask if you have felony or not at the college you can actually get a grant (grants do not have to pay back) to help you out while training. Then you can hunt down small company who will accept your college certificate and see you are trying to change your life around....

Just so you understand with small companies there is always a risk...low wages and you wont make a lot of money and potential of getting ripped off..however, after 5 or so years you can get into to a better company and before you do make sure to get that felony taken off your record bigger companies no longer hire felons...

good luck
