I would not advise this company to anyone. I have a friend that works for them. Due to a problem on his Dac report. He was just going to stay with them 3 months then move on. He right now is stuck in California, 3000 miles from home. One of them felons that works for them, had a push him out of the truck, and threaten to kill him, now the police are involved with this. And he has been trying to get ahold of them, just keeps getting voice mail. go figure that.If you value your life, really think hard about this company. They have very bad reputation. You can also go to Layover.com, so much bad about them there.

trials & tribulationsNEW by: Cowboy
Everyone has made a good point but just let me add. Yes we all have made mistakes, some more than others, but I feel if you carry those mistakes into your truck drivingthats a no no. I feel if you have made mistakes in a non cdl trucking inviorment, like your dui, or dui's and it wasn't in a big truck, well you shouldnt be condemed out of trucking. There are alot of great drivers out there who made a mistake, but not with a big truck, so it should have nothing to do with your job driving a truck. most drivers know it;s eligal to be in possession of any alchol, weather it's opened or not,, but on the other hand there are drivers that drive down the interstate with a cooler of beer, and smoking a joint, and that should not be talerated. Some drivers may bring there work home with them, or bring there home to work, but the % you read about is not exactly the truth. So there is a time and place for everything,

Im going back.NEW by: Cowboy
I agree with Rob, i was at CC for a few years and never had a problem, i thought Curtis was great.Yeh every co. has a way of taken money from you and you wonder why, but just because the truck does 68to70 mph doesnt mean you have to drive that fast, when you pass your aloted % of fuel usage per mile your gonna be charged for it, fuel is not free, if your a real trucker you know things like that, if these cry babby drivers at CC whants to spend $250.00 a week for food on the road and you spend all your advance money, well yeh your paycheck wont be great. I was solo for awhile there and ran into a problem with some dispatcher from NY City that CC hired, my moma was dieing and he wouldn't let me go home to be by her side, but that wasnt CC it was him and his his concern more for profit from a load than keeping his drivers happy, that was in 2006,by the time i got home to Greensboro moma died and i felt bad that i did that to Jim Crowder, because he gave me a break when no one else would, so i went with Contenental Express and they went out of bussiness, so after these Hollidays im going back to CC, it was a love hate relationship, but what co. isn't? Thumbs up to Carolina Cargo.

OK Fair Enough by: Dan
Worked for Carolina Cargo for 2 years. They gave me a chance when other companies would not. Pay is not the greatest. but you have to start some where. I was a trainer and always lead driver. Most of their equiptment is a million plus miles, but the shop always did their best to keep the trucks in good shape. The problem was always having new guys who could not back up or keep the trailer on the road or make a right hand turn without running over signs, trees etc. do your p.t.i. and post trip reports and you should have a safe truck. But having to deal with criminals who cared nothing about the inside of the truck made for hard living conditions. Get a good partner and get on the tupperware run, do your time and move on. Was never cheated out of my money.

A Fair Employer by: ROB
HELLO, Just wanted to make my own comment about Carolina Cargo. They pay 20 cent a mile, but they are not going to pay a man to sleep! While these truck drivers are crying about waiting for a load. I have already made another pay check!I have worked there for a year and can say that they have only been fair to someone with a rocky past. The problem is not Carolina Cargo! It is dum holes that will hold the past against someone.Like Big Trucking COMPANIES.60% OF Americans have been convicted of commiting a crime and the other 40% have not been convicted yet.Someone in everybodies family has fell, but there's alot of them that got themselves back on track and are doing well.33 cent a mile! I say keep it!I will make more than you because I am not afraid to work for my money. To all of the crybabies that have quit Carolina Cargo and said they where treated bad! Let me let the other trucking companies and drivers know that they probaly was there for no more than one trip and could not handle trucking anyway!Until you have paid your dues like everyone else that started trucking! You will be at the bottom anywhere you go!Thank God there is a company still here in the USA that does not hold your past against you!
