checking out a trucking companies status
by: hervy

I also forgot to mention....you can check their paperwork, status, record just like they sweat yours. You just need their dot number.

https://www.lifeasatrucker.com/how-to-check-out-a-trucking-company.html

Also search their name online and see if there is a huge amount of negative comments. A large company will have plenty of disgruntled ex employees.

A smaller one is easier to manage and handle issues so should have a lot of negatively floating around online.

Also search on ripeoffreport.com for negative feedback. However, don't let minor stuff keep you from driving. You won't have a lot of options to get experience with the background you described. Good luck man.

opportunity or a flim flam?
by: hervy

Hello Mark,

Your right to question Mark. You probably know when things seem to be too good to be true it is likely so.

In this case, the ease with which things are going is strange but it my be an opportunity for you. Only one way to know for sure......

Stay curious as you are and continue asking questions to them about things that seem strange.

I would ask exactly what day to expect your first check (or electronic payment) and how much your getting paid per mile

when that time comes there are very few legitimate reSins for them not to have your money. Red flag if they don't.

If they want you to pay for tolls and what not up front see if they will give you upfront advance for it.

If you see other drivers talk to them and ask how they like it there and if they are properly paid. Some drivers with hour record get abused by small companies, but sometimes its just a real opportunity.

PleAse come back and let us know how it turned out. If the company is straight up and needs more drivers there are many here who also need a foot in the door.

Wish the best for you Mark.

Good luck on the physical ,
Hervy
