2 Trucking companies that may hire recent felons

I believe I found two trucking companies that hire felons.

I was released 7 months ago and have been looking for a trucking job. Only to be turned down. A rehabilitation job counselor gave me two companies to call and said they don't care about your past. So I called and sure enough all she wanted was my cdl info to see if my driving record was insurable.

She told me to call her tomorrow and if my driving record was clean I got the job. She says she hires felons to give second chances. I'll post tomorrow and tell you what happened and will post the name and number of both felon friendly companies.

Oh by the way they are located in LA CALIF.

I have been driving almost 6 months mostly reefer and dry van. I am working with an OO and I fear he is going under as he has already cut my pay 20%. I have a pending criminal case, however, I do not see myself serving time but have a trial coming up in early 2024. I am very interested in hauling livestock as I have grown up around that lifestyle. I have tanker and doubles/triples endorsements but no hazmat or TWIC due to my case. Can anybody refer a few companies to me that would hire me in my situation. Any help is greatly appreciated. I dont think any trucking company can hire you until your sentenced because they cant take your word for the out come of the case. If your sure youll be sentenced to probation your best best is to wait untill your sentenced and met your probation officer youll need to get a pass for the lower 48 from them to give to the trucking company. Company that will take you with ACTIVE community supervision? (Probation, Parole, etc.) I'm ready to get back into the trucking game. I have a first offense OWI from Wisconsin which is over 10 years old. (Note: In Wisconsin your first OWI is non-criminal, meaning it's only a traffic ticket or legally speaking what's known as a civil forfeiture). I am also a convicted felon, but all convictions are over 7 years old. Here's the catch: I'm still on active community supervision from the 7-years-ago felony. Why? Because Wisconsin is ass and they have no cap on how long a person can be sentenced to supervision. The national average for time on probation/parole is 1 to 3 years. Wisconsin's average is nearly 3 times the national average. Again, why? Because Wisconsin eliminated parole in 2000 and replaced it with "extended supervision" when implementing the "truth in sentencing" laws - or scam as I see it from my perspective. It's way to complicated to explain on here so just so your own research on how screwed up the probation and parole system is in this state. But alas, back to my original point: 1 DUI (called OWI in Wisconsin) non-criminal more then 10 years old PLUS multiple felony convictions (6 or 7) all within the time span of a year (2014-2015), however "parole" is still active (again not parole but actually community supervision) and will be for about 3 more years. And yeah, how many years of CDL experience? Held a CDL for 4 years but the licence was downgraded due to not renewing the Fed Med Card - couldn't renew it while I was incarcerated - and actively drove for about 2 years (meaning I have 2 years of class A driving experience with no DOT reportable accidents or incidents). Another fun fact and to clarify; I did NOT loose my CDL because of the OWI! Although I got the OWI while I possessed my Class A CDL out of Texas, I got the OWI in a personal vehicle in Wisconsin and when they issued me the citation they put the wrong driver license number on it (used my old Wisconsin Class D license number, which was no longer valid, because I'd surrendered my Wisconsin Class D to Texas when I obtained my Class A there.) Wisconsin is also one of three states that does not participate in the national Driver License Compact; meaning that Wisconsin traffic convictions are not shared with DMVs in other states because there is no reciprocating agreement in place to do so. As such the Wisconsin OWI conviction only shows when you pull a lifetime MVR from Wisconsin. It won't even show up if you pull a lifetime MVR from my current non-Wisconsin DL number. As such the insurance company likely won't even see it, therefore it may end up being an non-issue entirely. The main issue for me now I think is this active community supervision. Thoughts anyone? All felonies were non violent in nature - property crimes that really were so low dollar they likely would have been misdemeanors in most other states. And no sex offenses either. Continue from prior comment: Yes I had CDL in 2000 suspended in 2011 a judge clear me to regain it, Yes I did some homework Sheryl, "not easy" n but if we are deternine we will go the distance. I did speak with the Work Force in Colorado got pre hired letters (it took time) but got approved for a Vet on job training program grant (in 2014-15) (someone mention TRANSAM) I got a year or so from them under my belt "that's all they good for" but since 2015 now I have over 5 yrs not counting prior to 2000. I have been a truck driver since 1972 yes with some 45 years of driving some 5 million miles. I have driven local as well as OTR. Back in June 2017 I did something stupid and got locked up. My first time in my life to be in trouble. I have driven for some big companies and have even been a trainer. I have zero accidents and zero tickets and even a zero score with DOT. Yet I’m finding companies wanting recent experience of 3-6 months which I have not driven a truck in some 3 years. Do they think we forget how to drive. Do I stand a chance in hell to get behind the wheel again as that is all I have left of my life. I was married 3 times and they all ended in divorces except for my last wife who passed away while I was locked up. I gave my life to driving the cause of my divorced being away for 3-8 weeks at a time so today it’s all I have left.

The last poster is correct. The more recent your conviction is, the harder it will be to get a job in the trucking industry. I really wish these schools that take the money from people knowing they are going to have a hard time getting placed somewhere would quit. The ONLY possible way you will get a job right away is if you went through the WIOA program and the state you live in will put a bond on you guaranteeing the job. And it is tough in most cases to get that to happen. And the poster is also correct in saying that recent grads that want a local home every night job are living in a dream. Unless you drive a local beverage truck and those MIGHT happen. People, do your homework to make sure you are going to be accepted by a company before dumping out all that money. That research will help you tremendously. You can also call Heather or me and ask the questions. And to the person before me, thank you from Heather and me for the kind words. We have been doing this for a long time and it's great to see someone post about us and notices our work.

please understand if your felony is recent and you're on probation within the last 2 years that means your conviction is new or you decided you want to catch a new charge within the last 3 years. Heather and Cheryl try their best to help people but let's be realistic any new charges within the last couple of years is an automatic turndown, no company is going to want hire you that's the sad reality I spent half my life in the penal system so I know personally.Also please stop trying to get local jobs because you don't have no experience driving so how do you figure you're going to get the benefits of being home every night

3. They could be using that as an excuse because a lot of companies have hiring freezes right now and you being a felon is the only reason they can pull out of their hat.

They all say the same thing "Due to there being felonies on your record, we can't proceed with the hiring process." Is "felony friendly" secret code for "We just wanna waste your time"??? I'm an ex-con who spent most of my life in the joint I had limited choices when I got out so I got my CDL license and been driving since. By the end of the night I had a simultaneous possession and misdemeanor marijuana possession and a trespassing charge. I can't find a company to hire me I need to pay for my son's college.

I have 2 felonies looking for a truck driving second chance company! My first felony is over 10 years old conviction date was 2007 and 2nd was in 2010/2011 I believe! No trouble nothing pending nor on probation or parole! I had a so called guy I knew somewhat was driving for hirschbach motor lines but found out how much of an asshole and racist he was as the days went by! So I got away before things got outta hand! Prime said it had to be 10 years old but it says case by case basis! Western I've heard will allow but they pay you like garbage but u will get the experience! Really don't wanna go that route they say u barely make $400 week there!!

We are a team looking for a company to fund our CDL training. The kicker is that one of us has a felony for aggravated assault which is a year and a half old. When I went to court I actually took a deal to lower it to a domestic assault misdemeanor but I have recently learned that it still shows up as a aggravated assault felony in a background check even though I have the court files of the deal showing domestic assault. Does anyone have any suggestions for a company that would work with us? Thank you!

It's not the school you really have to worry about. Schools will take your money all day long and not look back. What you need to do is some research within the companies that hire out of your area. What you have to research is 1. Are there companies that hire out of your area with a 5 year old felony 2. It will all depend on what your felony is 3. Your felony date goes by conviction date, not when you committed the crime. 4. Same with the ticket, make sure it not one that will have some kind of affect on your getting hired by the company that will take you and the felony. DUI's generally need to be 3 or more years old. And the fact that you have a pending case is also what is holding you back. This isn't just company policy, but the insurance companies have been putting a halt on a lot of cases such as yours. Even if you try to go to work for an independent, their insurance companies will drop them in a heartbeat. It's going to be tough on you for quite a while.

Don’t know how I got to this page but glad I did. I drove OTR from 1995-2003 when I was convicted of felony trafficking. 15 yrs in prison with 15 yrs probation. Upon my release I was determined to get my liscence back and get back on road. After several months of studying I took test on my own and passed. A month later I paid $250.00 to a 3rd party to test me in her truck. Got back my CDL. Drove local about 4 months then my PO let me go OTR. I report every month and he gives me a travel permit for 30 more days. I had no problem finding jobs. Had 3 so far but have found my home. Just takes determination

In 3-4 weeks you'll have your CDL. THEY DO HIRE EX-FELONS on a case by case basis. No long waiting periods from conviction. The catch......you must work for them, in a team for 10 months. You'll pay back the licensing, motel, food, medical at $40 a week. And the pay is low for this industry...0.30 per mile to start. You can get .01 raise each month, up to .42. But that's it. When it comes to hiring felons, most companies base their decisions on the following few things:
1.When were you convicted?
2.What crime you were convicted of?
3.How many convictions you have on your record?
What are some of the things that will automatically disqualify you?
•Escaping the scene of an automotive accident
•Causing a fatal accident due to reckless driving
•Driving under the influence of an illegal substance (DUI)
•Using a vehicle to commit a crime
•Driving while your CDL is revoked, suspended or canceled
•Using a commercial vehicle during a crime
•Motor vehicle slaughter in the 1st or 2nd degree
•Causing a fatal accident by recklessly handling a vehicle
•Serious crimes such as kidnapping, extortion, and murder, anything to do with children
•Extensive damage to a vehicle
•Vehicular manslaughter
•Severe injuries to a driver involved
•Felony drug charges (mainly trafficking, but not to eliminate others)

You haven't even put the work in over the road so in reality you have no driving experience that's why people go on the road then drive local you feel like hey I'm not gonna put in no work I want a local job sorry very slim chance on that. I'm a violent felon and a convicted drug trafficker, i been through what half of what you been through in trying to get a job. I have a great driving job now but it took me a few years of being free and not getting in any legal problems and the doors were opened. If you have a class A CDL license with one year experience and a fair driving record I have another otr company that will hire you. You must be able to pass a urinalysis (piss test)

Both companies run driving records not backgrounds.

I don't guarantee anything. What I do though if I can't place someone in a trucking company, is, give them information to places that CAN help their situation. There's help out there, not necessarily in trucking. Obama made sure of that in 2014. To answer those questions, they do not offer refreshers or training at this time.The previous poster is correct. There are a few types of felonies that they do not work with, they are as follows:
1.No pending charges or active warrants
2.Current probations require a letter clearing driver for interstate commerce.
3.No felonies in the last year
4.No multiple felonies related to drug or human trafficking, or smuggling in the last 3 years
5.No sexual offenses or offenses involving harm to a minor.
6.Multiple Misdemeanors, Bond Forfeitures, Fine Payment Plans, Probations, and Multiple Deferrals in the last 5 years require approval by supervisor.

Mesilla Valley Transportation worked with me. It depends on your charge, but if the Felony was more than a year ago and depending what it was they will work with you. You just have to get a letter from your PO that says you're allowed to drive across state lines for employment and when you need to check in with your PO again. Tell them about it up front because they will run a background check and find it. Dispatch was good about getting me home in time, but I had to remind the weekend crew a few times.

There are no companies that will hire with pending charges. And I'm pretty sure even smaller companies will not either. If he's fresh out of school, the smaller companies or owners with just a few trucks don't like to take recent grads because of the time to train them. To put it bluntly, he will need to wait until he's finished with court and even after that, a lot of companies have strict policies on hiring people with a drug history. My husband was charged with trespassing 5 years ago (mistaminor) and assault on a female 2 years ago (mistaminor) (he really didn't do it his ex wife beat herself with a bar of soap in a sock but the judge told him to plead guilty and serve community service or have someone decide if he was guilty or not and serve jail time if found guilty) that resulted in her getting a restraining order and a few months down the road she wanted to try to get back together to keep their family together and he pissed her off somehow and she called the police and said he was violating his restraining order so there's that too. Moral of the story my husband has had 3 interviews in the past week at great places but they won't hire him because of his background. Does anyone know of any places that would hire him in the Charlotte NC area? I can't stress enough to potential starters who want to become drivers. It's not the schools that will help you get a job out there. It's the companies decision. You can put all the money in the world in those schools, but they have no say so over who hires you. I've put numerous posts here to try to explain that these trucking schools will take your money all day, but they can not make that call if you will be hired or not. I do a lot of research on this subject. I've given advice to many and some don't like what I have to say. But again, rule of thumb for most all felonies is 5, 7, 10, 15 or 20 years on felonies. Depends on the companies set requirements. Please Please check with the companies out there first to see what your chances are. Don't put that money into a school that no matter what they say, they CANNOT guarantee you a job. I'm a recruiter and also drove for 17 years. This is what I have learned from companies I work with. All companies are different. The year range is usually 5, 7, 10 or 15 years from the date of conviction. BUT, they all have different stipulations. They are as follows: 1.No Violent or aggravated charges 2. No sexual or child related charges 3. No drug charges ever 4.No murder in the first or second degree
5. No felony theft conviction This is just a handful for examples. It just really depends on the felony. Some companies want to see court papers or anything to do with your charges. Felony applicants take a little longer to process due to they have to be approved by several departments. Note this, the things I listed isn't the guidelines for every companies. They are examples from several companies. If you talk to a recruiter, make absolutely sure they know the guidelines and that you can definitely get approved. I'm a firm believer in 2nd chances and I feel bad for applicants that I just can not get approved. BUT...for those that say they got hired, it would be nice for them to list what their felony was and the company that hired them. It would be helpful to other brother truckers. I can almost bet that one of the companies he is talking about is Carolina Cargo. They hired a guy with 3 months experience and didn't even road test him. They are a strictly team company and if you aren't starving or have a lot of bills, then I guess you can live off of .10cpm to start...yep..that is correct. I recruit for a lot of companies and work with felons to help them find jobs. It's tough sometimes because it all depends on the type of felony and how old it is from the date of conviction. One person noted in his comment to be HONEST...that is so right...be honest with the recruiter and you will save a lot of time for everyone. Working with felons is a challenge, but I took on a challenge many years ago when I decided to drive a truck and did it safely for 17 years. Now, I recruit...I am happy with what I do

I am a twice convicted felon and managed to get a truck driving job by doing the following:
1. Be 100% honest and up front about your felonies, your past your driving record etc. They all do background checks. They will find out.
2. Dont stop trying. I applied to every company i could find, think of saw on a truck etc. You will find someone willing to give you a break if you do #1.
I applied to 5-15 a day until i found a job. Speak to everyone who calls fill out every application then fill out some more. It took me 5 months everyday to finally get a truck driving job. Good luck dont give up.

I have three felonies, two drug charges, and a criminal impersonation. All lower level, but I never looked at it like that. Why invest time and money on something that you're uncertain about? Well, I'll tell you why. There might be 99 places that tell you no, that 1 yes is why you keep pressing forward.

I got my CDL and was told no by a slew of companies, but I've driven mixer trucks for 18 an hour. Worked for Coca-Cola. Recently moved to the south to be closer to my son, and got a job my second day here. Getting your CDL is never a mistake. Being lazy is the mistake. There are companies that will hire a class A guy over a B and you will still be making more money.

Carolina Cargo, Tempus Transport, Panther Logistics, you've gotta know how to search for places online. One word might make all the difference. I know there are some companies so desperate for drivers they've told me, put in the app and we'll make sure you get approved.

There's a lot of assholes out there, but also many people that want to help people that help themselves. Never listen to anyone that tells you it's not going to workout for you!

Everyone's situation is unique, and if the justice system is any indication of that...some guys get a slap on the hand and others get screwed. People have bad days, but that one good day is what you hold your head up for.

Be polite, speak well, clearly, research what you want to do, explain that you'll start anywhere you need to in order to get a foot in the door.

Go to work find a greedy ass owner operate or small company they don't care but what I learned is that over the road driving sucks I'd rather work 40 for shit pay because when you in a truck 24/7 it feels like your in prison and isolated, most truckers are dicks and are not friendly.

I seen trucking ruin alot of marriages, and the pay is not that great, just a word of advice from someone that hit the road in search of money security to only find lonliness and stress, but if you want to do it you can if you have no experience start with farmers, oilfield, or small greedy owner operators,good luck but if you got a family forget it be there for your wife and kids every day! Anybody know where I can get company CDL training and a job driving. I'm a ex felon had a clean criminal record till I was 36 years old then

I got into some trouble no drugs no violence not a pedophile no sex charges just non-violent white collar crime only time I ever been in trouble my whole life. Great driving record no DUIs no reckless driving last ticket I got was in 2010 before that was 2004 never had an accident.

I'm just looking for a chance to better myself I got a job right now as a breakfast cook working my ass off 40 hours a week but I ain't making no money. Can somebody point me in the right direction.

My name is David Cooke. I am highly interested in driving for your company. I wanted to

disclose some of my history with you through this letter. About nine years ago, I was convicted of a

felony. I was 18 years old, out having a good time with friends, and made the worst decision of my life. I

slept with a girl that night, and I was unaware that she was under age.

A couple days later, I was arrested and pled guilty to an attempted sexual assault charge. I was

sentenced to five years in DOC. I spent three years in prison and two years on parole. I had no violations

during my time on parole, and I have completed a state sex offender treatment program.

During that time, I had entered into a relationship that resulted in my four year old daughter,

Jordan. Long story short, my daughter’s biological mother had taken her from Grand Junction CO, to live

in Castle Rock, CO. Due to mother’s neglect, there was a case opened by child protective services. I

spent over two years proving that I am a fit father and that my past would not put my daughter at risk.

In February 2015, I was granted full custody and sole decision making by the State of Colorado.

While I was in the process of getting custody of my daughter, I began dating my wife. We have been

married for three years as of May 25 th 2013. I have been my stepson’s only father figure in the last four

years. Fast forward to now, my wife and I have had another child named Kaylin, who is sixteen months

old.

My past has always presented a challenge. I have taken any job that will provide as best as I can

for my family. I take full responsibility for my actions, and I regret the choices that I made nine years

ago. I would never make the same mistake again. I am not the same person, and I have spent years

proving that. I want to improve mine and my family’s life by getting a better paying job that can become

my career and by doing something that I enjoy.

I am hopeful that I have been able to show you the changes that I have made in my life and that

I may possibly be given the chance to work for your company. Thank you for taking the time to

read my letter.

If given the chance, I will show you that I can be a benefit to your company.

I was in prison for hitting someone robbing me and yet when the cops came he told them i was robbing him! since he was hurt and i had my wallet back i was taken to jail on battery charge

I was told my court date would be in 6 months and would have to stay in jail since could not afford the bond i was told by p.d i was facing 5 years but if i took state deal of 18 months would be better since had no proof of him trying to rob me! so i took it that was in 2010 since then i have drove for 3 company that wanted me to break d.o.t laws and one that would not pay me $9000.00 and not paying fines for things wrong with the truck till my lic was suspend without my knowledge. then i get running a red light in Tennessee and its a careless driving charge. yet now i can not find any driving jobs with a good company because of the past still!i feel the government plays a lot of games since it is there laws that stop company's from hiring felons not the company's

Just came home doing 11yrs 9months and within 3months of me being home. I got my CDL A license so far I was denied by CRST all because my license was suspended in 2005 and here it's 2016 CRST and Team USA trucking denied me for something that was 11 years old sad but true.

I live in northern Ca.In the central valley. During harvest time that starts in April & goes well into December. There are a lot of driver positions available regardless of your criminal record.

The pay isn't great but the work is easy, and many of the companies will offer full time year round work if a driver takes care of business. Some have rv spaces with full hookups. I hope this was helpful.

Just graduated from Truck Driving school. I'm glad Voc Rehab paid 90% of the tuition because its not looking good. I havent found a place yet that will even look at me. The sad part is they are the ones missing out because I am a great employee.

I had an alcohol problem for many years and of course there is wreckage in the wake of it all. But after 3 years in prison and my wife dying while I was inside 8 months to the gate, I have gained great wisdom and insight.

Why all these comments about murder convictions? A felony is a felony is a felony. I was convicted of a murder in 1993,been out since 2012, in cdl school right now, and had a cdl before I ever went to prison.

The 20 years I spent in prison dramatically changed my life; made me understand and appreciate life in all it's aspects and gave me a work ethic that would make most people cringe with the thought of having to work that hard just to get by.

I want what all of us want, to be able to provide for myself and my daughter, and obviously be able to prepare for retirement. Why should my conviction prevent me from having a career, and paying taxes, instead of being dependent on welfare and the government agencies to take care of me?

I am just as capable as anybody else at driving a big truck, and as statics show, murderers have THE LOWEST RATE of recidivism by far.

Don't be so judgemental, one irrational act does not define the character of an individual.

Started my search last night about 9:30pm. And after going online with my pre-paided cell phone and puting in a few applications only to get turned down by most i still have one possibility but probably more then likely to get turned down too.

Founded this website by accident this morning and man I can't believe the amount of us that's out here struggling how to get a driving job after prison.

I just got got released Jun 14 got my license last week after spending about $700 to get them back that I didn't have to spend now I'm broke. no job! opportunities and thinking crazy but I know like you guys know. that would be just going backwards but it's alright man you would think people would want to give you a break but most people and company's wants you to be 2 years 5 years one year 1 month or something after you get out to give you a chance.

And in the mean time what are you supposed to do. after you get out. I thought get out means after you get out right. so as long as I got my stuff together and doing what I'm supposed to do that one day should Afford me the Opportunity to be or to have the chance to work And be productive in society but society because I've already done the time right? And paided the debt. Or at lease i thought i did!

But society has its own agenda for us and we ain't a part of it evidently so what are you supposed to do to take care of your families and self in the mean time and between time? the two years or five years or 1 year or 1 month Before they will allow you a job Oh yeah!

Go back to the streets where they would rather see you anyway that's my conclusion but like you guys we all struggled and put in work to get out here to be productive and take care of our families and selfs.

We're not going to allow any company or anybody to set us back no matter what. so I say this to all the companies that don't allow us or afford us the chance to show we are worthy and have great work ethics. we're still somebody and we have families too and though you might want us to wait 5 years 2 years or whatever in between and open up that door for potential self destruction or something else to happen bad.

We're not going to do it. Period...... at lease I'm not and we're going to keep on going forward keep on getting better. keep on being productive and we're going to make it and be something more in life then just numbers # X000000.

So guys hang in there I didn't know it was so many of us out here. Now i don't feel all alone and it gives me hope as well .I feel much better now. all the Grown man tears and Heart ache i was feeling because trucking is my life source and more. it's my DNA.

I recently attended a driving school to help obtain my class A CDL. I have obtained it. However I cannot find a company to hire me. I have 1 felony conviction that is 11 years old & EVERY company that I have talked to refuses to hire me because of this.

I spent approx. $10,000 to go to school & for what? This is UNFAIR. It was the only time that I have ever been in trouble & I just want to put that mistake in the past but NOBODY will let me. Does anyone know of a company that will give me a chance????

I have try getting to work with Schneider because I had a prior CDL A, (98,99) but due to a refusal (BAC) was suspended for a year. But now have been helped by a V.A. program that has payed for my schooling so I can regain my CDL A, and Schneider recruiter told me my crime is not 2 years or older (Stolen prescription drugs)that I had a problem with plus I have been traffic violation free for 7 years but can I get a second chance.

Try Schneider...i drove for them, and Paschall truck lines they hire 5yr old felonies.its companies that will hire felon its a million trucking companies out there u just hv to keep looking tho.i was still on.parole an got hired on with Schneider and they didnt even know it.but its a company in justice,IL called AAA freight.

He will hire u .40cpm to start but gotta love to drive on that east coast alot tho but they hired me also,i quit cause im from the South not from the eastcoast so it was always an issue when it came to my home time..but Arnold transportation will hire u also.everything (dryvan)

I was charged with receiving stolen property 4 years ago but it was 10 years ago that it actually took place i just did not know anything about it till a cop ran my license and the next thing i knew i was in handcuffs.

I had to do 3 years probation and 100 hours of community service. Which all that is over with. On Dec 22 2014 as part of the plea deal the felony falls to a misdemeanor charge. I do not have any other type of charge against me or any tickets or wrecks on my records.

Ive worked for Time Warner Cable for the past 5 years and with the buy out of Time Warner Cable by Comcast and Charter alot of individuals including myself in the Columbus Ohio area are going to be layed off.

But Ive always held on to my CDL's as a backup just incase i ever needed them. Well I've decided to try to get a driver position but I was worried that the charge i have will keep that from happening. Since the felony charge -receiving stolen property- drops to a misdemeanor charge this month should i be ok?

My attorney informed me that i will receive a letter from the court showing I have a misdemeanor charge and not a felony charge should this be something I should inform to a potential employer if they question the charge on my record? This cannot be expunged from my record till June 2016 but with it just being a misdemeanor charge im not as worried about the expungement.

My attorney informed me that I should not have any issues with getting new employment but I just ran across this site while trying to get info on this issue and thought I would post on here to see what everyone on here thought. I would appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks

Convicted felon who was $300 dollars left to pay for state fine/probation and my first offender starts and clears/seals my record.

No violate and no drug charges I resisted arrest. Long story short I had just passed my AP for my cdl learners well I could not complete my cdl training because of court and jail time.

They may train you for "free," if you sign a contract for a couple years to drive for them. Let us know how it goes

I have 3 aggrevated assaults.

I got 3 aggrevated assault in 2011. I just got out in April, 2014. I have 2 incidents on my DAC report in 2010. Is there a company that will hire
me? I had a CDL A in 2010. I gave it up in 2011.
Can I get a second chance? PLS help I don't want to give up. I keep thinking positive but boy its
hard when you get turned down.

I am a convicted felon that was release on 11-23-10 I have relocated to Brunswick Georgia and have obtain my driver license and my class AP learners permit I don't have much money and I tried many of trucking companies to see if they will traine me and put me to work but all turn me down do to my felony I even went as far as appling for the federal bonding program and still nothing can someone point me n the right direction please

I think they need to give people chances that had been in prison a chance of getting there CDL'S unless they been charged with Rape or Murder then they shouldn't really have a chance but someone that has been out and has had there last one in 2000 should be able to get a chance at getting there CDL'S so if you guys know a trucking company that will give someone a chance in getting there CDL'S please let me know thanks a lot and my best regards go out to you all.

Can anybody help me I'm trying to go to CDL school and become a truck driver but in 2008 I was convicted of selling crack cocaine but I've been out of trouble for six years now is there any companies willing to take me on.. I'm a hard worker independent and always get the job done the first time I just need to find a company that's going to give me a second chance... Please reply back...

Life after prison is a factor

If people would realize that felons have been threw trouble. And we now know what it feels like to go threw it. Most of us have learned that life can be hard and adding prison to it makes things even harder. We only want a chance to redeem ourselves I have more in my life now than I had when I went to prison. And that changes things alot. Don't give up!!!

I have two felonies: aggravated assault in 1992, and escape in 2004. I have been told that my felony from 2004 is the problem, and that I will have to wait until 2014 to get a job. It is possible that the charge from 2006 is the big problem.

Covenant

I just want to say that if you have any type of drug conviction it is really hard to get hired. My husband has two misdemeanors posession of drug paraphernalia one in 97 and one in 2006.
He has been hired with Covenant has driven over $6,000 miles been two 15 states was nearing the end of his training only to be sent home.
Covenant wanted the court record which he gave them, then they called him to say they only allow one drug charge per lifetime! If we can get court paperwork in the next six days to say he was not in his car then he can go back. We are so disappointed one was 17 years ago and the other 7 years ago my husband doesn't even smoke Marijuana anymore and hasn't since his last arrest.
So we are back to square one and filling out any and every application.
If is this hard for misdemeanors I dred to think what it like for felons.

I have been told that 3 companies hire felons: Snyder, Allstate, and Transport America. I am not completely sure of this, but I'm checking into it, and if I get hired, I'll know!

my wife lives in El monte and I have had concerns about finding employment in California with a felony even with my long positive track record of driving and employment. cant way to learn about these companies.
I just hope that they dont treat us like were felons because we have one.
